A Brevard County company that sells laser engraving machines is now using the machines along with 3D printers to make face shields for heath care workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Most Aeon Laser USA staff is working from home, but a few employees are on site in Melbourne putting together the acrylic face shields.

 .

“We wanted to be proactive. When we heard what was happening in Italy, over in Spain … the shortage of supplies in New York. We knew we had to be proactive,” said business development manager Martin Camaj said. “That’s why we spent the time making sure we could develop these face masks ready to go as soon as possible.” The company is 3D printing its own frames and thumb screws for the face shields and is crowd sourcing the money for the materials to be able to produce 500 face shields […]
