Escondido Public Library offers free 3D printing to the public

Escondido Public Library now offers free 3D printing to anyone with a valid Escondido Public Library card. Library users may submit a 3D object for printing online via a web form at www.escondidolibrary.org/3Dprinting.

The prints will be processed by Library staff to ensure they meet the criteria laid out in the 3D Printing Policy and will be available within two weeks of submission (subject to change based on length of print queue). 3D objects must take four hours or less to print, be submitted as an.stl file, and are printed in a single color. Current colors available are gray, white, black, purple, and red. This service is sponsored by the Friends of the Escondido Public Library. The Library will host free public classes on a monthly basis for creating 3D printed objects using a free, web based platform called TinkerCAD.
