Getting started in 3D printing is both easy and daunting. What do I mean?
A few years ago, there were a limited number of options as far as entry level 3D printers. They were relatively inexpensive and fairly primitive in what they could do.
Now, while they are still entry level, entry level has improved sigificantly, both as far as pricing and what they can do and the materials they can use.
Let’s look at what yoy need to think about before buying your first printer. Oh, and realize that as your skill set grows, you will almost certainly move up to more versatile and more expensive machines.
Old and New Beginner 3D Printers
Like most things we buy, what we buy is determined by how we intend to use it, not just our budget. Is it for solo use, or for use with others, such as a beginning 3d printer for the family?
Just as children gravitate toward tablets and learn to use them quickly and creatively, the same is occurring with young children and 3D printers.
Below is just one example, USEED’s voice-activated 3d printer.

Whether you’re thinking about buying your first 3D Printer, learning to use your new 3D Printer or you’ve been at this for a while, this video will cover thirteen things you will want to know.
Probably one of the best things you can do before diving into 3d printing is to meet with someone who is already 3d printing and get their feedback and insight.
Another great resource – aside from this site – is this Facebook Group or our 3D Printing Today LinkedIn group. You can find members in these groups from around the world and they can be a great resource as you get started in 3D printing.
