This is excellent for working out printer eprom setting to remove this over-shoot (or even damped sinewave settling = ‘ghosting’) but annoying if you simply want to get a vernier gauge on the block to check X or Y accuracy.
.
So, if you just need X or Y dimension checks, it is worth drafting a cube with rounded vertical corners that are far less likely to suffer from over-shoot – or maybe print a sharp-edge cube really slowly.
.
Hats off to Chuck Hellebuyck’s for his CHEP cube, and for providing lots of clear 3D printing information in his excellent Filament Friday YouTube channel.
