The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a global shortage of medical equipment. Damage to supply lines has made it nearly impossible for doctors arround the world to get even basic equipment like N95 masks and face shields. There is a large community of skilled engineers designing advanced open-source medical equipment. I have also seen many people with 3D printers offering to print products for doctors and healthcare professionals who cant access or afford this equipment on various Facebook Groups and Slack Channels. The current system does not seem very structured, nor do doctors has a single place where they can go to make an order for the items they need.
