In April 2016, H. H. Sheikh Mohammed launched the Dubai 3D Printing Strategy – the goal of which is to ensure that 25 per cent of buildings in Dubai are based on 3D printing technology by 2030.

The same year, UPS led a $48 million series B funding round for 3D printing startup Fast Radius. While UPS had 3D printing capabilities in more than 60 locations, Fast Radius had software that could aid in design, development and manufacturing of industrial-grade parts.
