The Nanofabrica team (Idan Gil) Nanofabrica, a startup that develops 3D printers for the manufacturing of electronic and optical parts, said Sunday it has raised $4 million in a funding round led by Microsoft’s venture arm M12 and NextLeap Ventures.

The funding will be used to further the startup’s research and development work as well as expand its sales, Nanofabrica said in a statement. To date the company has raised a total of $7 million.

“Nanoscale, precision manufacturing is a growing need for R&D organizations, as well as production-scale manufacturing companies,” said M12 partner Matthew Goldstein in the statement.
