3D Systems has introduced a digital manufacturing system for high-precision, vertical stacked 3D printing of orthodontic models. It comprises the company’s NextDent 5100 3D printer; NextDent model 2.0 material; and a proprietary, high-precision stacked build available in 3D Sprint software.

 .

With this system, dental labs and clinics can produce 30 orthodontic models in one print, with the potential to deliver 120 models in an eight-hour period depending on size and geometry. The software is designed to prepare and optimize CAD data and then manage the additive manufacturing process. The new autostacking feature provides one-click automated preparation and placement of models on the build plate, including smart nesting and proprietary support structures.
