BigRep has introduced four new certified materials for its large-format extrusion 3D printing systems at FABTECH in Chicago.

 .

The company has added PLX, PET-CF, PA6/66 and BVOH support material to its portfolio as it strives to facilitate more advanced applications of its Pro, Edge and Studio G2 systems.

 .

Derived from organic compounds, PLX is being pitched as a reliable material able to print up to 80% faster than standard PLA at a strength surpassing ABS-printed parts without modification to the printer.

 .

PET-CF is a carbon fibre-reinforced filament designed for the Studio G2 which offers ‘exceptional’ dimensional stability and low moisture absorption. It can produce strong and stiff parts with a heat resistance of up to 100°C.

 .

The PA6/66 material is a highly durable, lightweight thermoplastic material boasting high rigidity and heat and chemical resistance. It shares a similar functionality to Nylon PA6 and is suitable for tooling, […]
