Loci Orthopaedics to explore 3D printing for medtech with NUI Galway

Loci Orthopaedics views the partnership with NUI Galway and Enterprise Ireland as a great opportunity to work within the academic-clinical-industry model, while testing its OsteoAnchor medical device.

On Tuesday (4 February), NUI Galway announced that it has initiated an Enterprise Ireland funded innovation partnership programme with Galway-based medtech firm, Loci Orthopaedics. Through this programme, Enterprise Ireland and NUI Galway will help Loci Orthopaedics to access the latest skills and expertise from research institutes throughout Ireland.

 .

As part of the programme, Loci Orthopaedics will have access to 3D printing facilities at NUI Galway’s school of Mechanical Engineering, which will be used to make further developments in a solution that Loci Orthopaedics has developed for dealing with arthritis of the thumb.
