Modix launches XXL-format MAMA 3D printer for automotive, aerospace & marine sectors

Modix, a large-format 3D printer specialist based in Tel Aviv, Israel, has launched its latest printer, the Modix MAMA.

 .

The “Modular Additive Manufacturing Assembler” has a variable print volume of between 1 x 1 x 1 meters and 2 x 5 x 1 meters, and will be presented next week at Formnext alongside other large-format machines.

 .

According to Modix, the MAMA is targeted at the automotive, aviation and marine industries, where the demand for extra-large build envelopes may be at its highest.

The company has even dubbed its new printer a “personal car factory,” since the largest configuration of the system is able to print vehicle-size objects. (Given the massive size of printer, Modix will deliver it to customers as a self-assembly kit.)
